| Movie | Captain Phillips

Oh my god, words can't describe how amazing this movie is. Tom Hanks is once again great and if I would be in the Oscar jury, I would give him the Oscar immediately :)

First about the movie itself:
The true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.

It's pretty short, but I don't want to tell you more. The movie is a little bit longer than 2 hours but you can't feel it because you are completely in the story. The tension is huge and I was sooo nervous the whole movie, you can't believe it. The end of the story is hard to guess and that's what makes the movie so fantastic.

The actors next to Tom Hanks had a hard job - imaging playing next to such a great actor must be intimidating. But they made a great job. You will have twisted feelings against the Somali pirates because in my opinion they are not just bloody pirates - they are people who have nothing to loose, born in a country without a lot of oportunities. And that's what I like about the movie as well - they emphasize this topic as well.

| Music | Imagine Dragons

Good evening, Good morning, Good afternoon where ever you are in the world!

Today I have to show you my favorite new band that I just "discovered" in Canada. Imagine Dragons is a US-Indie-Rockband from Las Vegas. They got famous last year with their song Radioactive. This song is just amazing and always makes me feel a little bit a sentimental, I don't know why.
Listen to it and enjoy it!

Another amazing song is It's time. The music is more rock music but even if you don't like rock, I think you will like it....

One of my favorite restaurants in Vancouver

Hamburg is not always a hamburger.... A good real hamburger is like a synphonie, the first bit and you will feel, that's the one...!
But unfortunately, that doesn't happen a lot. That's why, I have to introduce you to Subeez.















Subeez is a restaurant and bar in Yaletown. The restaurant is really big but there is always a good atmosphere. Especially the huge candleholders full of candlewax are an eye catcher and they are part of this great atmosphere.



The menu is mixed but what they offer is good. Especially the burgers are really tasty. My boyfriend is of the mind that this burgers are the bests in the city :)

You don't like burger or you're just not in the mood for a burger? Try pasta or salads. I had Chicken Penne yesterday and it was delicious. Penne with a white wine sauce, mushrooms, tomatoes, asparagus and chicken.

Anyway, I can really recommend Subeez (pretty obvious) and I'd love to hear what you think about Subeez. Let me know!

Heeey my friends,

I'm baack. But this time I'm really back ;) I decided to write this blog in english because I really have to improve my writing. After four month I'm still in Vancouver and it's amazing here. Now, unfortunately, the weather is changing but I really don't care, every season has its beauty.
Soo, I hope you are still with me and we can start together in this new episode of this blog. Of course I will write a lot about Vancouver and all the great shops, restaurants and sightseeing opportunities you have here but I won't forget that there are some people who are not in Vancouver. :)

Wird das hier ein Comeback? Kanada lässt grüssen!!

Hello world :)

Lange, lange ist es her seit meinem letzten Blogeintrag. Ich stelle mir sehr oft die Frage, ob ich das wirklich noch will. Ich bin einfach nicht die geborene Bloggerin, die stundenlang Zeit verwendet, um einen Blogeintrag zu gestalten. Wie es hier weitergeht, steht im Moment also noch in den Sternen...

Nun, bin ich aber im tollsten Land auf Erden, in der besten Stadt überhaupt. Haha, ja ich neige dazu Superlative zu verwenden, wenn ich über Kanada und ganz speziell über Vancouver spreche. Seit einem Monat bin ich nun in dieser Küstenstadt und besuche eine Sprachschule. Zwei weitere Monate liegen noch vor mir und ich will jede einzelne Minute hier geniessen. Die unglaubliche Landschaft der Rockies, die Schönheit von Vancouver Island und die Vielfalt von Vancouver bieten die ideale Gelegenheit für gute Bilder, deshalb lasse ich euch jetzt mit Bildern an meinem Trip teilhaben!!

Filmkritik "Die fantastische Welt von Oz"

 

Die letzten Tage standen ganz im Zeichen des Kinos:) Nach "Safe Heaven" war ich dieses Wochenende im Film "Die fantastische Welt von Oz". Der Film ist die Vorgeschichte zum Zauberer von Oz und wird in 3D gezeigt.

James Franco (auch in diesem Film ein schöner Mann fürs Auge:)) spielt den Zauberer, der das Land Oz von zwei bösen Hexen befreien muss mithilfe eines friedliebenden Heers. Die Hexen werden von Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz und Michelle Williams gespielt.

Obwohl ich eigentlich kein Fan von 3D bin, muss ich sagen, dass es sich in diesem Film wirklich gelohnt hat. Das Land Oz mit seinen Wasserfälllen, übergrossen Blumen, Hexen und malerischen Landschaften kann 3D viel besser vermittelt werden. Der Film ist wirklich sehr schön gemacht und hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Er wird wohl kaum DER Kinofilm der Geschichte, aber ein schöner Film für einen Weiber-, Pärchen-, Familien oder Sonst-Was-Abend.

 

 

 

Filmkritik "Safe Heaven"

Hallo und Guten Abend meine Lieben

 

Heute gibts mal wie der eine Filmkritik fürs Herz der lieben Frauenwelt. Kürzlich war ich im Kino, um mir den Film "Safe Heaven" anzuschauen. Als absoluter Nicholas Sparks Fan war das natürlich ein Muss.

Und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Der Film ist echt schön, noch viel schöner ist dazu der Hauptdarsteller. Mein Gott, dieses Bild eines Mannes würde ich nicht von der Bettkante stossen:)) Aber die Geschmäcker sind da ganz offensichtlich unterschiedlich wie ich mir hab sagen lassen;)

Die Story finde ich eigentlich auch gut, vor allem das die Geschichte auch wirklich spannend ist und ein wenig Action macht das Ganze noch viel aufregender. Vom Schluss möchte ich nicht viel verraten, aber natürlich ist er schön und fast ein wenig zuu kitschig. Hab natürlich ein wenig feuchte Augen bekommen:)

Der Film "Safe Heaven" ist auf jeden Fall perfekt für einen Mädäls-Abend!!
